On Tuesday 30th September, the whole school-from Reception to Year 6- took off across the fields for a season walk.  This was the first of many planned for this academic year, and this walk was organised by Miss Miles' class.  The children learned to map read an OS Explorer Map, they chose a suitable route, tested the footpaths the morning of the walk to ensure it was safe, and led the whole school in the afternoon.  They pointed out interesting features like the natural springs and the stems and seeds of Japanese Hogweed plants along the river.

Lots of lovely parents and grandparents had volunteered to escort the children, and the sun came out to make it a wonderful afternoon.  By the time we got back, the children were exhausted- especially our newest reception children!

Thank you to everyone who came with us- we are already looking forward to the next one!
